Murder

I was sickened when I read the following article in a national newspaper on the 17th June 2007.

Neighbour finds 93-year-old friend stabbed to death.

A man spoke of his revulsion today after finding his 93-year-old neighbour stabbed to death just yards from his home. The victim, named locally as Albert Taylor, was found by his old friend and neighbour on the common at the front of his house, shortly after 8.30am.

Jim Comley, 76, who has known Mr Taylor for 37 years, said he was "traumatized" at the death of "such a nice guy with no known enemies". Mr Comley said his neighbour was known in the area affectionately as "Old Bob". Police have said the pensioner died from a single stab wound.

Mr Comley said a knife was found near Mr Taylor's body. "It was a shock to find him," he said today. "I looked through the window and thought I could see an old coat on the grass but then I went out and found him and called the police. There was a bloodstained knife just a yard from him." He added: "It was like a carving knife or kitchen knife, about six or seven inches long.”

A post-mortem examination is taking place and the results are expected this afternoon. Police said they will officially identify the man once all his next-of-kin have been informed.

Mr Comley and his wife Ann, 72, said Mr Taylor had been in the army and decorated for his service in the Second World War. He was active and keen on fishing and painting, they added. "He wasn't very steady on his feet and he used a walking stick but he still liked walking about, and still used the bus. He liked his fishing too." Mr Comley said.

This morning, a white forensic tent stood on the grass common onto which Mr Taylor's house faced. An area around the property was cordoned off with yellow tape as several police officers stood guard.

How much longer are we expected to put up with news reports as above! We have a Government that has lost its way over many years, where murder and many other issues are concerned. A murderer no longer has to pay the price by forfeiting his life for the act of murder, they are slapped on the wrist and placed in prison for a few years, then they are let out to perform their same horrendous act again. These days the murderer is protected, while the innocent and their family's pay the ultimate price.

I think it is about time that decent people of this land protested to the Government in a big way, about the injustice within this island nation of ours. Murder has been out of hand for years because of pussy cat politicians and their weird ideas. A man knows right from wrong and he knows full well that murder is not lawful.

If a son or daughter of mine committed murder and there were two or three witnesses, then I would expect him or her to pay the Biblical penalty for their crime. Some people may find this hard to comprehend coming from a father, but I would still love my son or daughter in spite of his or her crime. Just as my Heavenly Father, loves the sinner, but hates the sin.

One hears so much nonsense about human rights laws today, it is enough to make one very angry. The only people that benefit from these laws are the criminal themselves, while their solicitors come up with all the petty excuses as to why their client committed the crime in the first place. The cause of the crime is blamed on everyone else, except the person who carried out the crime in the first place. I feel very sorry for anyone who has to protect his family or property from the criminal, because he is the one who will end up in the dock for doing so. I will always disobey civil law, when it is in opposition to God's Law and if I am to suffer for obeying God's Law, then so be it.

We are having these problems today because bent politicians have done away with Biblical Law where murder is concerned and many other Biblical Laws. In other words they consider themselves to be wiser than God the Creator, for it was He that laid down the penalty for murder. Once man does away with Gods Law he will find himself in error, just like we are finding ourselves in today. The value of human life has been cheapened to the point where a person can be brutally murdered and the murderer walk free within a few years only to repeat the crime.

Without a doubt, the abolition of capital punishment has been the direct cause of the cheapening of human life, there is no question to this fact. Whatever prison term the murderer serves reflects the value of the victim's life. If however, the murderer pays for the crime with his or her own life, the State exacts the maximum penalty and places the highest value possible on the life of the victim.

Man cannot override Gods Law, without causing himself untold problems and misery.

Government Responsibility.

When government officials use force to restrain and punish evil, they are not doing wrong. Rather, they are God's minister (servant) and are doing good. Therefore Christians may serve as police officers and soldiers in good conscience.

Bear the sword is to carry and use weapons. This implies the right to carry out capital punishment on wrongdoers, for swords are used to take peoples lives. The fact that God  authorizes governments and His servants to use force even to the point of taking human life does not contradict the command "You shall not murder" in Exodus 20:13 the word used in that commandment refers to criminal murder and does not include judicial taking of life or killing in war, for which the Old Testament uses other words. The same is true of the Greek word translated "kill" or "murder" in such New Testament passages as Matthew 5:21.

Government Sponsored Murder

The number of abortions in England and Wales is rising.

There were 193,700 in 2006, compared with 186,400 in 2005, a rise of 3.9 per cent, the Department of Health said. The age-standardised abortion rate was 18.3 per 1,000 resident women aged 15-44, compared with 17.8 in 2005, and the rate was highest, at 35 per 1,000, for women age 19. The under-16 abortion rate was 3.9 and the under-18 rate 18.2 per 1,000 women, both higher than in 2005.

Some 89 per cent of abortions were carried out at less than 13 weeks gestation, and 68 per cent were at less than 10 weeks. Health Minister Caroline Flint said: "We welcome the fact that a higher percentage of abortions are taking place at an early stage - almost two-thirds under 10 weeks’ gestation and most under 13 weeks.

"However, the NHS needs to work harder to reduce the demand for abortions by improving access to contraception. It was announced last month that the number of abortions in Scotland is rising. There were 13,081 therapeutic abortions performed in 2006, compared with 12,603 the previous year, according to the Scottish health statistics. "We also know that conceptions amongst the unmarried are up overall in England and Wales."

2007 A SHAMEFUL ANNIVERSARY

On October 27th 1967 the Abortion Act received Royal assent and abortion was permitted in Great Britain. 6.7 million babies have been legally killed in the womb since 1967, with 465 added to that number every day. The government has tried to curb the rise in unplanned pregnancies by giving youngsters free access to morning after pills. Despite these policies, the rise of 15-17 year old girls aborting babies has gone up by 12% from 2005 to 2006 in Wales alone. 1,004 girls under 18 had abortions last year in Wales.

The Daily Mail reported that a record 18,619 minors had abortions in the UK with 135 girls under the age of 14 terminating a pregnancy. They reported that one girl of 18 had recently had her sixth abortion. 193,737 women had abortions last year with 44 of these having had their 8th abortion.

This is what Scripture says concerning murder.

(Genesis ch9:v6) Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

(Numbers Ch35:v30-31) Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die. Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely be put to death.

(Deuteronomy Ch17:v6) Whoever is deserving of death shall be put to death on the testimony of two or three witnesses; he shall not be put to death on the testimony of one witness.

Mankind considers himself to be in control and master of all things. But very soon he will find that he is in control of absolutely nothing. Soon he will have to stand before his Maker to give account of himself. Are you preparing yourself for this great day? Remember this, today is the day of Salvation!
