Ten Lost Tribes Of Israel?
Where are the Lost Ten Tribes of the House of Israel?
Britain and U.S.A. Identified Today in Bible Prophecy.
The literal ancestors of the lost ten-tribed House of Israel are found today in the British Commonwealth of Nations, the United States of America, and certain countries of north-western Europe, particularly Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Holland. Without a knowledge of this amazing truth, the full understanding of Bible prophecy is impossible. Two-thirds of the Bible is devoted to the foundation of the Israel nation, its Biblical history, its prophetic role in world happenings over 2,000 years, and its decisive destiny in the coming age of Christ's reign on earth. The identity of the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic nations with the Israel of the Bible is the key that unlocks the mysteries of Bible prophecy. We find that Jacob, or Israel as he is now known, had twelve sons and a daughter. The son' names were Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Zebulon, Issachar, Dan, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Joseph and Benjamin. The descendants of these twelve sons became known as the twelve tribes of Israel.
It is certain that the Jews do not comprise the whole nation of Israel, but represent only a marginal section. In Old Testament times the twelve tribes of Israel was divided by civil war into two houses, the House of Judah and the House of Israel. The House of Judah, or the Jews, consisted of only two of the twelve tribes of Israel, the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, with a portion of the tribe of Levi in addition. The Jews today represent only a remnant of the House of Judah.Between the years of 741 B.C. and 721 B.C. the great armies of Assyria conquered the House of Israel, and in a series of invasions carried the ten tribes of the House of Israel into captivity. God allowed this tragedy to overtake them as punishment because they had fallen into idolatry as a people. The captivity of the House of Israel into the land of Assyria was complete, and only Judah remained in the promised land. This is referred to in the Bible. (See 2 Kings 17:18) "Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only." Verse 23 of the same chapter reads: "Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day." (i.e. unto the day of the writing of the book of Kings.)
Almost the whole of the House of Judah was taken captive to Babylon in about 580 B.C., and only 49,000 returned to the promised land 70 years later (See Ezra 2:64-65). "Records the return to Palestine under Zerubbabel... Of a Jewish remnant. But the mass of the nation and most of the princes remained by preference in Babylon and Assyria, where they were prospering." (King James Bible)
This remnant of Judah remained in Palestine until the coming of Jesus Christ. Following their rejection of the Messiah, the Romans came against them in A.D. 70, led by Titus, and after a great massacre of hundreds of thousands of Jewish people, carried the remainder away into captivity.
The Jews intermarried widely with the people among whom they stimulated (See EZRA 9:2; NEHEMIAH 13:23-25), and the immense Jewish historian Josephus, who lived about the time of Christ, states that the whole nation of the Edomites (which were descendants of Esau, Jacob's brother) was immersed among the Jews and ceased to be a separate nation. According to modern estimates, only a small minority of the Jewish people today represent the true descendants of the House of Judah. They are called the Sephardim Jews, and are generally light skinned and fair. The remaining majority are called the Ashkenazim Jews, and are generally dark and swarthy, features which are not Israelitish in origin, but have been inherited from the Gentile nations among whom they have moved. This is what Jesus said about those that call themselves Jews, but are not. (See Revelation 2:9) I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.
'THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL' is not synonymous with the 'House of Judah'. The House of Judah and some of the Jews are of Israel, that is, descended from Jacob. The distinction I wish to emphasise is that while some Jews are Israelites, all Israelites are not necessarily Jews. In a similar way, all Scots are British, but all the British are not Scots. When the general blessings were apportioned at Jacob's death, the Messiah was promised, with the sovereignty, to Judah; but the 'multitude of nations' and the temporal grandeur of the birthright were given to Joseph.
The House of Israel was to obtain these in the latter days, or the Christian era. Ten-tribed Israel was to be divorced from the Mosaic law and its identity temporarily lost to history, but known to God; it was to be re-covenanted in Christ to enjoy the Israel birthright in the Isles of the Sea, to be His nation of evangelists in the world, and the inheritor of the Kingdom of God. The prophets display meticulous care in their address to the 'House of Israel', the 'House of Judah' and 'the inhabitants of Jerusalem' (the Jews). To apply to one 'House' a prophecy which refers to the other is clearly to misapply the message and confuse the issue. A careful regard of this distinction is a requirement to the correct understanding of the prophetic Scriptures.
